Doug and Terri have been proud members of the Los Barriles community for many years. As your on-site hosts at Casa Dulce Vida, they live right on the property and are always happy to greet you, share local tips, and help with anything you need to make your stay easy and memorable.
More Than Just Hosts — A Heart for Rescue
Doug and Terri are deeply involved with the local nonprofit Cortez Rescue & Outreach. They volunteer regularly and foster rescue dogs—often those who need extra care and are too often overlooked.
Most fostering happens during the quieter summer months, but you may see a few friendly rescue pups around in winter as well (typically no more than four unless there’s an emergency).
If you’d like to give back during your visit, even one day can make a difference—volunteering, temporary fostering, or even serving as a flight angel to help a pup reach their forever home. Safety: Very safe and secure! Left our door open for breeze always.
Walkability: We stayed for 50 days, walked everywhere we needed & wanted to go.
Food and Drink: Kitchen very well equipped. Sharp knives and excellent cookware. Doug bought me a hot pot for tea.
Noteworthy Details:
Terri washed our linens weekly at our request. Extra sheets and towels provided. And beach towels. Doug & Terri are very kind considerate folks. His TV allowed us to watch our local channels. Awesome!!!
